And I loved that their story started with friendship and longing because Rainn believes himself to be straight. Rainn is grumpy and cynical, but he can’t help but be charmed by Whit. Whit is just the sweetest person and kinda awkward in an adorable way. It has the perfect amount of conflict, and I really liked both the protagonists as well. And so, hockey is also something of an obstacle. Rainn was an NHL-bound player who lost his career to an injury and now hates the game. One of the things that link them is hockey. Rainn works at Vino & Veritas, and Whit’s a student who’s recently come out and wants to enter the LGBTQ scene. I really appreciate that.Ĭoming back to Headstrong, the story follows Rainn and Whit. But I’m happy to inform you that, even though I read this one before the second, not only did I not feel that I was missing something, but it also didn’t spoil anything of the first two books. And since I was trying to limit the number of ARCs I ended up with-which might be hard to believe since I ended up with six-I didn’t request the second book. This book and the second one both come out on the same day. The books in this series, being by different authors, are coming out very fast. Genre: New-Adult, Contemporary Romance, M/M Again, because this is an ARC, the random shirtless dude stays.
